Storm Drain Labels

 Recently, local organizations and volunteers have been sticking storm drain labels on these storm drains to create awareness about littering and pollution in the water.  These Storm Drain Labels remind us that all the litter that is pulled into those storm drains with the storms is also being drained into the Chesapeake Bay with the storm water. This litter in the ocean is called polluting oceans. 


    If you search up 'Storm Drain Labels' on the internet, you will see that there are quite a lot of counties around the area who support Storm Drain Label programs. 


How can I help with this situation?

* Join a local Storm Drain Label program and help out your county. 

* Encourage others not to litter

* Tell other people about the dangers

SHARK ATTACK: Another environmental problem

As the Summer continues, a popular tourist destination happen to be the home of beautiful sunset skies and soft rolling waves- beaches. One of the many safety risks and problems at the beach happen to be shark attacks. In 2023, there were 120 alleged human-shark interactions and these numbers continue to rise year by year. Why are shark attack numbers rising? The climate crisis of rising temperatures is pushing sharks towards shore because of the distribution of marine species being changed.  Also causing them to mistake humans for food. This means that the climate crisis caused by humans has as an overall impact to many lives including sharks.
